| | Things are eerie around here. There is smoke that covers our beautiful city, a terrible smoky smell outside, and ash on our front/back yards, cars, and driveway. Our school and church have been closed for the week and it all feels eerie. It's almost surreal. Fire is so powerful, it does what it wants and I know several families that have had to evacuate their houses. All I can do is pray, pray that their houses don't get burned and that their families stay safe. On t.v. it's the only thing that's on the major stations...fire coverage. It's addicting. I go to bed watching it, fall asleep watching it, and wake up early to catch what is going on. I'm one of the lucky ones that can actually fall asleep because the fire isn't too near us. However, last night Joli and I drove to the end of Palm Ave. (about 5 miles from my house) and we were on a hill and we could see 2 fires bright red in the dark. It truly let us know the seriousness of the situation. There are so many families that have lost their houses, it's so sad. It makes me so proud of all of our firemen, city officials, and how they are working ridiculous hours to help save homes in San Diego. It's amazing to see our city pull together to help those in need, it's truly touching.
Right now on the news they're addressing the fact that people are looting in the city of Ramona. That makes me absolutely sick. What are these people thinking? |
